A long time ago, I read a novel titled, The Stranger. It was written by French author, Albert Camus.
The novel was about a man, Meursault, who defended himself by killing a man who attacked him with a knife. Meursault later had to defend himself in court and was ultimately convicted of murder after the prosecution used frivolous and flimsy evidence against him. For instance, the jury turned against him when informed that Meursault didn’t cry at his mother’s funeral.
After reading the novel, I did some research about it and the author. I remember Camus saying the theme of the novel was man’s nakedness in the face of absurdity.
What would Camus think if he were alive today? With all the information flying in our faces, so much of which is absurd, it should make people wonder if common sense still exists.
Examples are: carbon dioxide is now a pollutant, Americans can’t buy food and pay bills in the same month, funding a war in Ukraine without knowing where or how the money is spent, there are either 68 or 72 genders, law enforcement in big cities won’t prosecute thieves unless they steal more than $1,000 in merchandise, rising crime and murder rates in big cities thanks to defunded police forces, and on and on and on.
It adds up to a lot of chaos that everyone has to put up with, making it tough to get on with your daily life.
I placed a list of all the issues below that we’re facing which seem to hold some degree of absurdity. I may have missed some and there are a few that overlap, but they are all overwhelming examples of the ridiculous.
1) The bumbling, stumbling village idiot that we’re supposed to call president. At this point, Slow Joe Biden has degraded the office of the presidency to such a low point that he deserves neither respect nor credibility. Until recently, we looked at the executive branch with reverence. Now, we look at it with ridicule. And so do our adversaries. Slow Joe lied, violated the rights of American citizens, and evidence in congressional committees is leading to him being bought off by other countries. China is just one of the many countries involved, and so is a Russian oligarch’s wife. China and Russia are our adversaries. Who’s getting rich from the war in Ukraine? Could it be that Slow Joe and Putin are collaborating on a manufactured war to get rich? We know it’s true on one side of the Atlantic.
Calling this guy president is just part of the absurdity.
Disregard for the US Constitution and Bill of Rights is another: remember Slow Joe said that none of our rights are absolute, he colluded with tech companies to stifle dissenting opinions – truth, the DOJ doesn’t practice due process or rule of law as it jails Jan. 6 folks indefinitely for trespassing, Slow Joe himself has his DOJ busting Trump for having and mishandling classified documents when, as president, he was able to declassify those documents. Meanwhile, Slow Joe has classified documents strewn in a large swath stretching from Philadelphia to Wilmington, Delaware. Who says there isn’t a two-tiered justice system?
What else has Slow Joe done? Take your pick, every decision is a disaster: energy independence gone and high gas prices are the result, the skedaddle from Afghanistan, forced covideception vaccines, falling asleep in meetings with world leaders, stumbling up the steps to Air Force One, mumbling through his speeches and losing train of thought, giving the okay to send billions of dollars to Ukraine to keep a war going for “as long as it takes.’’
Name one world leader that has a miniscule amount of respect for Slow Joe.
2) Another round of Trump indictments. It’s funny that Trump gets a new indictment the day after incriminating news comes out on Slow Joe or his kid. We all should be eager to find out when the indictment from Georgia hits the news. What dirty little fact will come out on the Biden family the day before?
But this time Trump screwed up. He threatened the special prosecutor Jack Smith, and Smith filed a protection order. The Atlantic already says this is a systemic threat to democracy. My question is, what about Trump’s threat makes it systemic? We already know that the “system’’ is aligned against the former president. And the “system’’ isn’t democratic. The so-called “system’’ is authoritative, controlling, and tyrannical, and it’s deadly afraid of him, so it’s going after him.
Trump’s threat probably wasn’t just for Smith. It was probably directed at the whole shadow government and subservient politicians who are going after him. Still, it was a dumb thing to say. He ought to know something like that’ll be used against him.
Actually, Trump’s threat gives the impression that this disaster seems more like a schoolyard bickering match that’s about to turn into a fist fight. At least, that’s where it ranks in maturity.
Good thing the adults are so adult.
3) Critical Race Theory. This theory is just another divide-and-conquer technique. It’s ironic that the newest version of the race card is being pushed on the population from the lefties, the Democrats, the party that created Jim Crow and the KKK after fighting a war to keep slavery legal. What’s absurd about it is that students are indoctrinated: black folks with a permanent victim status identity, and white folks with a lifetime guilt complex.
Besides that, you’re not even teaching history; you’re teaching a broad vision of human history through one lens – everything has a racial injustice theme. And if you don’t believe me, look at the Heritage Foundation article, Rescuing Math and Science from Critical Race Theory’s Racial Discrimination. Imagine having a math class called “Power and Oppression.” How does mathematics figure into power or oppression?
Is the law of gravity racist because it was thought up by a white guy, or does it affect everyone on the planet? But it’s okay if they don’t learn it now. They’ll be able to find it on their phones in 10 years.
4) Trans and sexual identity. Here’s another divide-and-conquer issue. That such a small group of Americans can wield overwhelming power over the rest of the population by forcing children and parents to accept drag shows and learn to perform sex acts from books read to them is an earth-moving shock to parents whose kids are in primary school. Who’s the genius that gave the okay on this?
In some Western countries you can be arrested for misgendering a trans person; in Michigan, you can be jailed and fined for getting someone’s pronouns wrong.
There’s no wonder American children are underperforming in their academic subjects; they’re too busy being sexualized and manipulated to change their genders. I know there are parents out there who won’t accept this, but there’s definitely not enough. If you’re a parent and accept this kind of degradation for your child then you’re part of the problem.
5) Subverting the 1st Amendment. Slow Joe was ordered by a US District court judge to cease colluding with tech companies to censor Americans who disagree with the government peddled narratives. What does Slow Joe do in response? He keeps the collusion going and files an appeal to overturn the decision. Isn’t it a threat to democracy when our government takes away our enumerated rights?
6) Due process is non-existent. Arbitrary charges slapped on Trump but not on Slow Joe for the classified documents issue, indefinite detention for trespassing on the Jan. 6 protestors, arrest and fines for protecting your property during the summer of 2020 while vandals and looters had charges dropped, citizens arrested at school board meetings for speaking out that they don’t want their children learning how to perform fellatio at the age of eight. The violation of due process and rule of law is just as important as losing your first amendment right.
7) Climate crisis. Hundreds of millions of Americans and citizens worldwide are being forced to give up their cars, their stoves, their ability to stay warm in the winter, and any other gadget or appliance that uses fuel that’s not in line with the United Nation’s mandates. And all of this while John Kerry, Klaus Schwab, Antonio Guiterres and other very unimportant and unimpressive people get to ride in their private jets to meetings where they tell us there’s a climate emergency that doesn’t exist. The globe is not boiling as Guiterres told us just a few days ago. It’s summertime, so there will be heat waves from time to time. This has always happened and it will continue for the rest of this summer and the next.
There are thousands of climatologists, meteorologists that say the climate crisis is nothing but bunk. This nonsense is to control and eventually kill you with either food shortages as cows are euthanized and farmland is seized or to freeze you to death because heating your home is a threat to the environment.
8) War in Ukraine/World War III. Has the US government ever been more eager to go to war than it is now? What are we not being told or what’s being hidden that makes our leaders clamor to fight Russia? Biden has called Vlad Putin a “murderous dictator,’’ and SC senator Lindsay Graham encouraged an assassin to “step up and take him out.’’ Such wise and thoughtful diplomacy we get from our leaders at the international level.
Historically, the US was always unprepared at the start of the wars we’ve been involved in. However, since the rise of the military-industrial complex, the US is always involved in some type of conflict. We’ve grown into the bullies of the world over the past 80 years and it has to stop. NATO is obsolete, so pushing Ukraine to become a member isn’t necessary.
There is more here than what we’re being told. And Americans could possibly get killed in the process.
9) Soft on crime policies in big cities. The most absurd issue here is that as businesses are leaving the big cities, mayors, city council members, and other leaders are chastising the businesses for leaving. How stupid is that? If Walmart is losing more cash per day, thanks to looters, than it is making, doesn’t it make sense to move your business out of that particular area? So, keep looting. Soon you won’t be able to buy a stick of gum because the downtowns of the big cities will resemble ghost towns.
Shoplifting crimes are no longer crimes, homeless folks defecate and shoot up heroin in the streets, police are replaced with social workers, and gangs of children are coddled for vandalizing businesses on city streets. Good job metro area leaders. Your shortsightedness will turn your cities into cesspools quickly.
Albert Camus turned out to be a wise man and is probably laughing from his grave. As Americans realize the lack of wisdom and foresight of the leaders we’ve elected to the local, state, and federal levels of government the initial shock of helplessness has passed and people are leaving cities and states for something better.
But these policies and their absurdity still exists, and no matter where you run you’re still going to get caught up in it.
